"Shades"
- A Fair Visions Photography and Fine Art Project -
Modelling Role: Barghest
The Character:
The Barghest is essentially a Hellhound, a monstrous black dog with huge teeth and claws and firey eyes. It is said that it could also become invisible and walk about with the sound of rattling chains. At the death of any notable person the Barghest would appear, followed by all the other dogs of the local region in the style of a funeral procession. The animals would begin howling and baying. It may also foretell the death of an individual by lying across the threshold of his or her house. It is sometimes said that, like the vampire, the Barghest is unable to cross rivers. Barghests are also said to be the hounds of the Wild Hunt, led by folklore-God Herne the Hunter.
The Role:
For this role, we are looking for a large, dark coloured dog. The breed and sex of the dog is not important, but as we are looking for a Hellhound, please bear in mind the overall look of your dog before applying! The dog must be friendly, patient and happy to wear a "costume" of sorts. The dog should also get along with other dogs, as more than one Barghest may be cast, depending on the final concept selection.
You will NOT be required to leave your dog with us without your supervision.
This role is completely voluntary, therefore applicants should be living in, or willing to travel to/stay in, Lincoln and/or the surrounding area. You will recieve a free copy of one of the chosen images as a thank you.
How to Apply:
To submit your dog for consideration, please send a recent photograph and a short paragraph telling us a little about your dog to charli@fairvisions.co.uk with the subject line "Barghest Application".
